METALWORKING SOLUTIONS
How Can I Reduce or Eliminate Fluid Contaminates?
We consider contaminates anything that gets in metalworking fluids, cleaners, rinse tanks and rust preventives that causes a deterioration in fluid life or overall performance. Typical contaminates are chips and fines from machining, tramp oil, water (in oil systems), minerals from fill water, fluids from prior operations and residue from incoming parts/castings.
To get the best answer to “How “ to eliminate contaminates start with “Why”. Understanding why contaminates need to be removed leads to identifying what needs to be removed and to what degree. It puts us on the right path by defining success and base lining a budget. Here’s an example of why.
[EXAMPLE TBD]
There are a number of different types of equipment available to remove contaminates. At Harrigan Solutions we believe that our role is not to sell you on a technology that we represent, but to determine the best technology for the application and then help you get it. Our commitment is to work with you to develop an honest evaluation of root cause, best solutions and payback. After that we can decide if and how it makes sense to do business.
Some examples of solutions that we have implemented with our customers include:
-
bag filter systems
-
pressure filters
-
vacuum filters
-
low-speed basket centrifuges
-
high-speed disc-stack centrifuges
-
chip conveyors
-
ultra-filtration
-
coalescers
-
skimmers
-
DI systems
-
RO systems
We have provided equipment as stand-alone pieces and have integrated several pieces with tank farms for a whole system. We have used both new and refurbished equipment and have rented for trial purposes and to give a more flexible approach. (Rented equipment can be changed-out at a much lower cost to you.)
Methods of contaminate remove are only limited by the imagination. The best methods are limited by experience, an understanding of the problem and the available means to remediate. Partner with Harrigan Solutions to discover the best method for your process. For more information call Bill Harrigan at 1-888-685-9603 or by email at bharrigan@harrigansolutions.com.
